Communication
and Language
We develop confident communicators by using the Talk for Writing approach to strengthen speaking, listening and early literacy skills. Children develop a secure grasp of language through oral storytelling, structured retelling and rich vocabulary practice before progressing to reading and writing.
Literacy (Phonics, Comprehension, Reading, and Writing)
At Oakfields Little Learners, children build confident reading and writing skills through structured phonics and rich, purposeful language experiences. They learn to read accurately and fluently, applying phonics knowledge with confidence. In writing, they form clear letters and compose simple, meaningful sentences independently.
Physical Development
Children move with confidence and agility, showing strength, spatial awareness, and coordinated control in active play. Their fine motor skills strengthen through purposeful practice, using a tripod grip and handling tools with growing accuracy, care, and attention to detail in their written and creative work.
Personal, Social, and Emotional Development
Children develop strong self-regulation, confidence, and independence. They understand rules, manage personal hygiene, work cooperatively, and build positive, respectful relationships with adults and peers.
Mathematics (Number and Numerical patterns)
Children build strong mathematical foundations, mastering early number relationships, recognising patterns, and applying their understanding through purposeful exploration and problem-solving.
Understanding
of the World
Children develop an understanding of community, culture, and history, exploring similarities and differences across time, places, and traditions through rich literary and real-world experiences.
Expressive Arts
and Design
Children explore a variety of materials and creative techniques, experimenting with colour and design while confidently sharing and reflecting on their creations. They engage in imaginative role play, storytelling, and musical performances with growing expression and coordination.
STEM programme
Through our exclusive STEM franchise programme, children engage in carefully designed, hands-on learning experiences that introduce engineering concepts, early coding logic, scientific investigation, and mathematical reasoning. Beyond building projects, they build confidence; learning to question, test, refine, and persevere.
